Perry's Rise to Fame is clearly laid out in the Perry Documentary “Maxine’s Baby” Set for Global Release.


The upcoming documentary film “Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story” is generating a lot of buzz ahead of its global streaming release on Prime Video on November 17, 2023.


The documentary marks the first in-depth film focused on sharing the untold childhood horrors and rise to fame story of prolific entertainer Tyler Perry. Having childhood friends and relatives to corroborate some of the heart-wrenching struggles just seem to give this documentary an all the more meaningful affect. I cried, clapped, praised God, cheered through out the documentary. You will absolutely leave with a much greater appreciation for what this man has been able to create while enduring so much abuse as a child.

Directed by Gelila Bekele and Armani Ortiz, “Maxine’s Baby” traces Perry's Rise to Fame from his challenging upbringing through his rise to become an acclaimed actor, director, producer and writer. Perry is known for his character Madea as well as numerous feature films, stage plays, and TV shows he has written, directed and starred in. Just pause and think on that for a moment. This man didn't know how to give up he had already seen the bottom. There was no where in his mind to go but up it seems.


Produced by Gelila Bekele, Jasmine K. White and Asante White, the documentary features candid interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. It provides an intimate look at Perry’s experiences that shaped his path and motivated his distinguished entertainment career.

Earlier in November, Perry attended a red carpet premiere event for the documentary in his hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. He posed for photos alongside the directors, producers, crew members and others who collaborated on the film over an extended production period I hope you will enjoy some of the photos we chose to include in our social media reel.
